Didcot to Oxford 175th group

The 175th anniversary of the Didcot to Oxford railway is being celebrated with events at Oxford (Grandpont recreation ground), Radley station, the Old Ticket Office at Culham station, at Appleford (on the recreation ground), and the Didcot Railway Centre.

A loose co-ordinating group, the Didcot to Oxford 175th group, was formed in order to suport this unique weekend of celebrations by providing a forum allowing the organisers of each event to meet, share ideas, and provide a point of contact for other interested third parties. In addition, it allowed certain umbrella functions to be supported, such as the development of this dedicated website, an 'official' logo for consistent marketing, the operation of social media channels, and the running of the 175th photo competition.

Representatives from third party organisations who planned to actively support the celebrations, such as Thames Travel, GWR and the Didcot Railway Centre, also attended group meetings to share and discuss their plans.

Following the weekend of celebrations on 15/16 June 2019 the Didcot to Oxford 175th group will disband, its purpose having been fulfilled.

All queries regarding any aspect of the celebration activities should be raised directly with the particular event organisers, or the providers of services, as indicated on the relevant pages on this website. The promotion of any event or associated service does not imply any liability by the the Didcot to Oxford 175th group for any matters arising whatsoever.

Acknowledgements

The group wishes to thank all the supporting event co-ordinators and volunteers, third party organisations, celebration sponsors and all who have contributed in any way to either the individual events or the celebrations as a whole.
