Changes at Culham station

Ever since it first opened in 1844, changes have been made to accommodate the ever evolving needs of the station. Some of these changes, such as the demolition of buildings, have had a drastic and lasting effect on the station whilst others were more subtle or have been purely cosmetic. Inside the ticket office there are visible reminders of many alterations, some dating back over 150 years, which reflect the changing work practices and needs of a working environment. Many of these changes can be seen in the 'Tour of the station' page under the 'IMAGES' menu tab.

Our researches have brought to light many changes and so they have been split into fairly logical groups - The Great Western period from 1844 to 1947, post Nationalisation and through the Network Rail era until the present day, and finally a look at some of the proposals for future changes.
